Even Elves Love reCap Mason Jars!
Over all I love this product! I'm sure all the other styles of lids are just as fantastic and I would love to try them all out over time.
Next I am going to take the packages advice and try to use it with something dry. I chose rice because my family loves to eat rice and I do sometimes have a hard time pouring the rice into a measuring cup without spilling it all over the counter.
So this is the awesome Pour lid the fantastic people at reCap Mason Jars sent to me. It simply screws on to my mason jar and the little pour spout pops open and closed.
Now its around the time I make dinner, I've now realized I have no milk to add to our mashed potatoes! Lucky for us, we live across the street from Meme and Grandpa and they always have milk! So I run over and fill my Mason Jar with milk and show Meme my awesome lid (She loves this kid of thing as well)
We only needed a little milk for the potatoes but I kept the rest of the Milk in the jar to make sure it stays fresh with my pour cap.
It did! I LOVE this cap!
Thanks for Reading!!
My reCap Pour lid screws right onto the Mason Jar with no problems!
I think it looks really cute!

The great people at reCap have given me another Pour Cap like the one I just reviewed to do a Holiday Giveaway with! (How Exciting!)
Every other weekend or so we go spend time at our house in New Hampshire where we always have these HUGE family (and friends) breakfasts. We have A LOT of black berries in the late summer early fall so this past berry season I tried to make jam for the first time and can it.
It didn't go very well.
My "Jam" ended up being very watery so we use it as pancake topping which is really good
I opened up two of my jars of un-jam/pancake topping and mixed it with a bit of maple syrup, I put on my pour cap, shook it up a bit, removed my pour cap, heat it up in the microwave a bit, then returned my pour cap and it was ready to use!
The next thing I wanted to see is if God forbid this jar filled with liquid got knocked over in my fridge by one of my four kids, would it leak all over the place and make a huge mess?
So I filled the jar with water, placed it on a towel and knocked it over.
I then left it knocked over for a few hours. I did the dishes, did some prepping for my up coming craft fair, and ran to the store to buy some beads for my sock snowmans eye balls.
The lid DID NOT leak a drop!!!!
I was really impressed!

My reCap Mason jar lid came in this adorable packaging, It can be opened without totally destroying it which is fantastic. The packaging says the mason jar lid is BPA FREE, Made in the USA and that they support 1% for the planet. 1% for the Planet connects businesses, consumers, and nonprofits, empowering all of us to drive big, positive change in saving our planet!
The Back of the packaging also mentions you can use your reCap pour lid for Dry or Wet goods! How perfect!
I also really love the part about how they want to put the "re" in reCap- Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle.
That is something I also push in making all of my Upcycled Creations!
I flipped my lid over to check out what was going on inside. It has a very nice seal to stop leaks and keep whatever you decide to put inside fresh. It also tells you this lid is NOT for canning but there's nothing wrong with your good ol' canning lids! These lids are for so much more then just canning!
On the inside of the Package there is a cute little pantry label for your dry goods that you can cut out and use. They also point out that the packaging is printed on 100% recycled paper using plant based ink! that is awesome!! I LOVE recycled items, it really makes me feel like I am helping make a difference!
So, as I mentioned before I am big into recycling and reusing everything I can. The mason jars I use for just about everything are these Classico Pasta Jars. I get them at BJ's in a 3 pack. My family LOVES this sauce and I LOVE these big, fat jars!
The lables on these jars are so easy to get off.
Just some hot water and a sponge and they fall right off, Which is great because nobody wants to ruin their nails scrubbing off labels all day!
I found it WAY easier to pour the rice into the measuring cup with the pour lid than without!
I simply popped the lid open and popped it closed when I was done. It was very easy! I liked it a lot better then my usual pouring to much rice and dumping it everywhere as my measuring cup tips over. Plus its sealed, so it keeps out those annoying little moths that LOVE rice. I'm sold.
This company is so right up my ally with their great alternative lids for Mason Jars.
Me being so into recycling and my LOVE for all things Mason Jar I could not turn down a opportunity to try one of these great lids out and do a review.
I will also be doing a Holiday Giveaway thanks to the awesome people at reCap following this review, so if you like what you see you can enter to win your very own Pour Lid from Irish Fox Creations and reCap Mason Jar Company by Following Irish Fox Creations on Facebook to see when the giveaway starts!
