In my opinion, Fall is the best time of the year. I love everything about it. The colors, the smells, the leaves, the cool air, its all great. Especially when it comes to decorating my house.  I definitely go over the top, but it makes me happy so stop judging me.

Our dining room is usually a disaster. It is our most used room in the house, we use it to have family dinners, to craft, to do paper work, to fix broken down toys. My dining room table has seen more action then most people. It also happens to be the room that gets the brunt of my decorations.

Wagon Wheel

The Front Porch

Halloween Costumes and Accessories

My antique Wagon Wheel is my pride and joy of of my front porch. My boyfriends friend comes across a lot of great antique stuff like this wheel and gives me what he can't use or doesn't want. I use this wheel through all seasons and decorate it differently for ever every season. It also doubles as a type of privacy screen for us since our front porch looks onto the street. I always but some type of lights on it and at night our porch looks so romantic (something about white lights at night just sends my heart beating)

All these ideas are over the last 2 years. I'd like to do a page each season from now on but I just simply don't have enough photos of all my decor to make pages for each year so I am going to put them together so these photos and decor don't go to waste. I will be making a page for each year from now on and I will do better taking and posting photos. I PROMISE!

Your front porch is the first thing people see as they are walking into your home. You want them to be wowed as soon as they walk up. In my case I don't really have a grand front porch to leave you saying wow but I work with what I have and don't get me wrong, I am thankful for what I have when it comes to my front porch.

The candy corn jars are handmade. I use tissue paper and Mod podge to create them. It was very easy. You just brush on the mod podge to the jar, place a piece of ripped off tissue paper onto the mod podge and brush it again over the paper. repeat this until the jar is covered then allow time to dry.

This shelf is hanging in my dining room, it was very old and tired. I gave it a few coats of black spray paint and used some wallpaper I had lying around to line the shelves with.  I try to decorate it differently every time. This photo is one of the first time I decorated it for fall, it looks very different today.

For fall I first wrap white Christmas lights around the outside of the wheel. I then wrap some fall leaf garland around it over the lights. I bought the Garland at Dollar Tree, it isn't very long so I had to buy a few, I think I used 4 to go around the whole wheel. I used bread ties to connect them all together to make them look as one. I grabbed a loose sun flower out of one of my many bags of flowers and I'm done! Isn't she just so beautiful?!

Fall Decorating Ideas

I found this great saucer display at the dump a few years ago, I thought it was pretty cool so I brought it home and hung it right up. I had a bunch of extra tiles from a left over project so I decorated a few and placed them into the plate holders. I think they look great. I have a few for different holidays so I am always changing them out.

That's all for now. I'm sorry I don't have more photos of my fall decor from years  past. I will do better in future years I promise. Check back soon for more decorating ideas.

I have a few of these great decopodge leaf jars around our house. They have a tea light inside and they glow so beautifully. they are made the same way as the candy corn jars,  only I glue on a leaf and add some twine for that rustic fall look.
